The inaugural "Orlando 60 Field Trip" series will begin at Nikki's Place Southern Cuisine in Orlando's Parramore neighborhood.
On September 20, Orlando 60 will host a curated dinner and chef talk at Nikki's Place.
The special dining experience will begin with samples of Southern "delicacies" including fried chittlin bites, smothered chicken gizzards and livers and okra soup.
Dinner options will include oxtails, fried chicken, baked chicken, smothered rib tips or a veggie plate. (All veggies are made without meat.)
Owner and Chef Nick Aiken will discuss his life in the kitchen and his legacy in Central Florida's dining scene, from his days working at Ronnie's to serving Muhammad Ali, Coretta Scott King, and Elvis Presley. Aiken has owned and operated Nikki's Place since 1999.
Black Cauldron Brewery and Digress Wine will provide beer and wine.
